Disney Grad Nite is probably the once in a lifetime opportunity for high school grads. For students who avail it is a golden memory that they love to tell their kids about. It was introduced in’61 by Walt Disney and has been taking place in Disneyland since then. Disney Grad Nite usually takes place in April, May or June.
It is an all night party in which the graduating class of high-school seniors take part in. It includes live performances by several artists and Disney opens several adventurous rides for the students to enjoy on. Traditionally, it takes place in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom but this year it was shifted to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It is going to go back to its traditional place next year.
The nite comes with many surprises for high school grads and one should take full advantage of this nite. But when I say full advantage, I mean the allowed advantages and not the undue advantage of the nite that Disney is giving as a gift to you. A lot of students try to bring in drugs, drinks or even weapons to the party but it is strictly prohibited by Disney.
Disney has taken some strict actions for discouraging such activities. Due to some unfortunate deaths and other accidents like passing out of students, the Disney has closed some places like the Tom Sawyer’s Island and Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. In the starts all rides and attraction were open but now Disney carefully chooses which ones to allow and which ones to close.
There is also a dress code associated with this night and only semi-casual wear is allowed. Torn or distorted jeans are also strictly prohibited. At one time, it used to be very much formal but now it just has to be clean and should casual. Students who do not follow the dress code have also been turned back from the entrance.
The nite starts at 9:00 p. M. From Main Street and moves on to the dance floors. Disney also shows spectacular fireworks and they are very much anticipated amongst the students. Not to mention as it is an all-nite party students can enjoy many Disney’s rides and watch acts and shows. The whole of Disney World is decorated with lights and stalls with sponsorship are also set.
Live performances by well-known and most popular artists are always there, every year. Popular artists like Britney Spears, Simple Plan, The Fray, The Last Goodnight, Lesley Roy, Ne-Yo, Omarion, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Fall Out Boy etc. Have made appearances on these nites and have been drooled over by the grads.
Disney Grad Nite is the best time of the year for high schools graduating class and it starts at 9:00 and lasts all night till 6:00 a. M. It should be taken advantage of but do not blow your chances away by violating the rules set down by Disney.
